Amid High Turnout and Wide Participation at Lusail Corniche .. PHCC Concludes the Healthy Kids Village Activities

17 Feb 2025

The Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC), in collaboration with Qatari Diar, has concluded the activities of the Healthy Kids Village, which took place at Food Arena on the Corniche of Lusail City. The four-day event attracted nearly 1,000 children and saw a significant turnout from families and children who enjoyed the health and entertainment activities.

The event successfully achieved its goals of promoting health awareness among children through a variety of interactive activities. These included free medical check-ups such as oral and dental examinations and biometric measurements to monitor children’s overall health. Additionally, family doctors and psychological specialists provided simplified consultations to educate children on the importance of taking care of their mental and physical well-being.

Ms. Huda Mohsen Al Wahedi, Executive Director of Corporate Communications Directorate at PHCC, emphasized that the initiative provided a valuable opportunity for children and their parents to enjoy an experience that combined health education with entertainment in a fun environment. She added that the large turnout of both children and parents reflected families’ awareness of the importance of health and proper nutrition in building a healthy and strong generation.

The village witnessed extensive engagement with educational activities, where nutrition specialists and dentists conducted interactive workshops to teach children the fundamentals of healthy nutrition and the importance of oral and dental care in an enjoyable and simple manner. Incentive gifts were also distributed to participating children, further increasing their enthusiasm and engagement in the experience.

Additionally, a puppet show was presented on the village’s central stage, attracting significant attention and strong interaction from the children in attendance. The show focused on raising children’s awareness of oral and dental health in a fun and engaging way. The puppets interacted with the children, demonstrating how to prevent tooth decay by maintaining regular brushing and using toothpaste. The show also provided advice on healthy eating habits and avoiding foods harmful to dental health. It was an entertaining educational opportunity for children to learn how to care for their oral health in a simple and engaging manner.

The puppet show lasted for 30 minutes and was performed twice daily—once at 4:00 PM and again at 7:00 PM—throughout the four days of the event.

Moreover, the Rashid Family cartoon characters were present at the village entrance, where they welcomed children, handed out awareness brochures to attendees, and distributed souvenir gifts to children.

This initiative is part of the efforts by PHCC and Qatari Diar to promote health awareness among children and encourage them to adopt a healthy lifestyle from an early age. The event received highly positive feedback from families, reinforcing the importance of organizing similar initiatives in the future.
