As part of its commitment to community engagement and health promotion, the Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) took part in National Sports Day activities through collaboration and partnerships with various ministries, institutions, and public and private entities across the country. This participation aligns with the state’s efforts to enhance community partnership and health awareness among all segments of society, with PHCC providing health and educational services to event participants.
Awareness booths were set up, staffed by medical professionals, nurses, and nutrition specialists, offering vital health screenings and measuring key health indicators. These efforts contributed to raising health awareness among citizens and residents. Additionally, specialized staff provided guidance on the importance of exercise and maintaining a balanced lifestyle to prevent chronic diseases.
The event included collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education at the Old Doha Port, where PHCC deployed a nursing team to conduct vital health screenings, alongside a nutrition specialist offering health advice. The corporation also partnered with Al Gharafa Sports Club by providing nursing staff for health assessments, further promoting health awareness among athletes.
PHCC’s participation extended to Al Khor Primary School for Girls, where a health educator delivered a lecture on the importance of a healthy lifestyle. The corporation was also present at Qatar National Library’s activities, where wellness management staff, a fitness specialist, and a health coach provided guidance on enhancing physical activity.
Additionally, PHCC participated in events organized by the Qatar Sports for All Federation at Aspire Academy, where nursing and nutrition specialists conducted health screenings and assessments for attendees. The corporation also collaborated with Al Ahli Sports Club to provide specialized nursing staff for vital health checks for athletes and participants.
This initiative reflects PHCC’s commitment to its community role and to promoting health awareness. By fostering a culture of prevention and health-consciousness, the corporation aims to build a well-informed, healthy, and active society through comprehensive health services and ongoing awareness campaigns.
Moreover, all 31 PHCC-affiliated health centers celebrated National Sports Day by organizing various sports, educational, and awareness activities for medical and administrative staff as well as visitors. These efforts aimed to maximize the benefits of the occasion and reinforce the significance of Sports Day in promoting individual and community health.
