PHCC Health Centers Provide High-Quality Care for Children Aged Five Years and Over with Urgent but Non-Emergency Medical Conditions

Parents whose children require medical treatment for urgent but non-emergency conditions can utilize the high-quality services offered by all Primary Health Care Corporation health centers.
Dr. Samya Ahmad Al Abdulla, Senior Consultant of Family Medicine and Executive Director of Operations at PHCC, said: “At PHCC, our clinical teams at all 29 health centers are ready to provide medical care to children aged five years and over who have urgent but non-emergency medical conditions.”
“This may include a respiratory tract infection, mild fever, throat pain or ear pain. Parents can take their child, without a prior appointment, to their registered health center between 7am and 11pm, or to any of PHCC’s eight Urgent Care Units, open 24 hours a day, seven days a week,” said Dr. Al Abdulla.
PHCC’s eight Urgent Care Units provide round the clock care for patients with non-threatening medical needs under primary care such as minor burns, sprains, severe headache or earache, high fever, dehydration, and dizziness. Parents can take their children to any PHCC Urgent Care Unit, 24 hours a day, regardless of which health center they are registered at.
Pediatric walk in patients under five years of age, those with more severe medical conditions, or children with a chronic illness, are advised to visit one of Hamad Medical Corporation’s Pediatric Emergency Centers, while parents whose child is experiencing a life-threatening medical condition should immediately call 999 for an ambulance.
