PHCC signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Aspetar, a specialized orthopedic and sports medicine hospital for a Primary Care Sports Medicine partnership, advancing both parties’ future and fulfilling their expectations. The MoU was signed by Managing Director of PHCC Dr. Mariam Ali Abdulmalik and Aspetar CEO Dr. Abdulaziz Jaham Al Kuwari, in the presence of many physicians and officials from both parties.

The PHCC-Aspetar MoU would strengthen Sports Medicine collaborations between the two parties and the considerable potential for bilateral benefits. It would provide a unique opportunity for PHCC physicians to receive clinical training in an integrated service and world class facility, such as Aspetar to ensure highly qualified medical staff.

The MoU also covered Aspetar’s provision of a clinical and training facility and staff and the joint expertise between the two parties, while PHCC enrolls its Family Physicians in the training program for its duration. In addition to forming a joint committee to follow up the steps and stages of this agreement to ensure its success in all areas covered by the MoU. This includes their joint efforts in conducting medical-related research, ensuring that the two parties go towards achieving the Qatar National Vision 2030 with the focus on the health sector.

For her part, Dr. Mariam Ali Abdulmalik, Managing Director of PHCC, said: “I am confident that this collaboration would yield qualified physicians in the field of Sports Medicine, safeguard the health and safety of community members, prevent disease infection, and provide the best treatment in line with Qatar National Vision 2030 with regard to primary health care.
