In Line with Its Responsibility to the Community and Commitment to Environmental Sustainability .. PHCC Participates in Earth Hour 2025

24 Mar 2025

In line with its commitment to Corporate Sustainability and Qatar National Vision 2030, the Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC), under the leadership of Managing Director Dr. Mariam Abdul Malik, participated in the global environmental awareness initiative, Earth Hour 2025, on Saturday, March 22, from 8:30 to 9:30 pm. With the approval of Assistant Managing Director Mr. Musallam Al Nabit, the Facilities and Maintenance Department took part in the initiative by switching off non-essential external lights across PHCC buildings, supporting global efforts to raise environmental awareness.

As in previous years, the operation of PHCC’s 31 Health Centers across the country and its Headquarters remained uninterrupted, in alignment with the core principles of the Facilities, Engineering, and Biomedical Directorate, as well as the Governance Guidelines for Corporate Sustainability and international accreditation standards. The stewardship of carbon emissions’ reduction and sustainable practices for combatting the climate crisis is no longer a choice—it is a collective duty. Through this initiative, the community recognizes the impact of a single hour and the collective responsibility we all bear.

PHCC’s efforts are not limited to symbolic gestures; the corporation continuously strives for the optimum facility management and remains committed to the long-term enhancement of operational performance, efficiency of the embedded systems and energy savings. Notably, PHCC was the first organization, with national record in the State of Qatar, to have all the eligible buildings been certified for GSAS compliance, by M/s GORD and continues with the holistic coverage.

PHCC remains dedicated to transparency, integrity, and making a positive environmental impact, in alignment with its responsibility to the community it serves.
