PHCC Concludes Its 2024/2025 Back-to-School Campaign

25 Sep 2024

As part of its ongoing efforts to enhance student health and improve the quality of healthcare in schools, the Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) has successfully concluded an outstanding campaign under the theme “School Health: Promising Student-Centered Healthcare.” The campaign, which ran for two weeks from September 8 to 19, 2024, achieved remarkable success through a diverse range of activities involving all government schools, kindergartens, and Education Above All schools.

The campaign also stood out for its launch of impactful community initiatives. Dr. Layla Al-Dahnaim, Head of School Health Department at PHCC, held meetings with parents and the local community in five schools across the country. These meetings served as a platform for exchanging ideas and discussing ways to improve student healthcare, reflecting the School Health Department’s commitment to fostering community collaboration and achieving shared health goals.

In a significant step toward empowering the school community, the School Health Department organized training workshops in 169 preparatory and secondary schools. These workshops focused on enhancing the skills of teaching staff, students, and parents in adopting various healthy habits. Participants gained essential skills to promote healthy lifestyles. Additionally, school health nurses conducted interactive activities, including coloring corners in 122 primary schools and kindergartens, making health concepts enjoyable for young students.

To further amplify the campaign’s impact, PHCC distributed comprehensive awareness materials via its official website and social media channels, alongside brochures detailing the importance and components of student-centered healthcare.

Interactive activities were also a key part of the campaign, with health competitions engaging students and providing them with an enjoyable way to interact with health information. Students also showcased diverse artistic works, such as drawings, paintings, and crafts, all centered around the theme of student-centered healthcare.

Moreover, the campaign highlighted the achievements of the Smart School Clinics, which are equipped with the latest medical technologies and electronically linked to health center records. This enhances the efficiency of the school health system and reflects the technological advancements in delivering healthcare within schools.

This campaign marks a significant step towards improving the quality of healthcare in schools and ensuring that student needs are met comprehensively and holistically. It reflects PHCC’s commitment to providing exceptional, supportive healthcare services to students.
