The Bowel Cancer Screening program is being carried out as part of Qatar's National Cancer Program and aligns with the Qatar National Health Strategy 2011-2016. This strategy aims to decrease the impact of cancer in Qatar while making sure that cancer services, when needed, meet world-class standards to improve medical outcomes.
The Bowel Cancer Screening Service, available at PHCC health centers, is a test offered to both males and females to identify potential bowel cancer. This screening procedure entails using a (FIT) kit test to detect hidden blood in the stool. If any unusual results are detected, the patient is subsequently referred to HMC for further assessment.
All PHCC-registered individuals aged between 50 and 74 with no related symptoms.
The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) recommends undergoing the Bowel Cancer Screening Service every two years.
