Physiotherapy is a healthcare field dedicated to evaluating, diagnosing, and addressing illness and disability using physical methods. It is grounded in medical science principles.
Within PHCC, the physiotherapy service primarily specializes in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy. This service aims to optimize function, restore movement, enhance strength, and encourage self-management.
Physiotherapy services are administered by professionals known as physiotherapists (PTs). The key skills of physiotherapists encompass manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, and the use of different electro-physical techniques.
The following conditions are beyond the scope of PHCC's Physiotherapy Services:
All registered and walk-in patients from age 14 and above are accepted.
Physician-referral: patients can access physiotherapy services through internal referrals from their PHCC physicians. Externally, referrals can be made by HMC physicians, provided they align with PHCC's Physiotherapy Scope of Service based on a shared agreement. Additionally, patients from other external care providers, such as Cuban and private hospitals, will undergo assessment by PHCC physicians, who will subsequently refer them to PHCC Physiotherapy when deemed suitable.
Health centers without a dedicated Physiotherapy clinic will direct patients to regional specialized PHCC health centers within the same area. Appointments can be scheduled based on either the earliest available slot or the patient's preference (refer to the table below for more details).
