Scope of Service

• Anemia.
• Underweight, overweight & obesity. 
• Hyperuricemia Gout.
• Diabetes Mellitus type 2 (insulin and oral therapy).
• Hypertension.
• Dyslipidemia (high Cholesterol).
• Chronic renal failure stages 1 and 2.
• Pediatric malnutrition.
• Gestational Diabetes Mellitus.
• Eating disorder – anorexia nervosa and bulimia.
• Controlled Psychiatric issues (on treatment).

Individuals presenting the following conditions cannot benefit from the services of PHCC Dietetics:  

• Uncontrolled psychiatric issues.
• Case of allergies such as nut allergy, lactose intolerance etc.
• Coeliac disease.
• Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus – adult and Pediatric.
• NG tubes.
• Acute Renal failure and end stage renal disease.
• Patients on dialysis.
• Cancer.

Target Group 

All PHCC registered individuals aged 6 months and above. 

Type of Access

• Physician referral. 
• Self-referral by contacting 107.
• Urgent referrals (to be seen within 2 days of referral) of new patients with a confirmed diagnosis of Gestational Diabetes.
